Touching Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope is the interactive opera by artist Karina Smigla-Bobinski
The National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan will host an interactive art installation that simulates an infinite palette, where every touch generates a new combination of shapes and colours.
The work combines the creative process with the scientific and aims to raise awareness of how we perceive the world, starting with its colours.
How to interact with the work
Consisting of a light table on which layers of red, green and blue ink float between sheets of PVC, the work invites us to reflect on the perception of colour and the interaction between analogue and digital. By manipulating the primary colours, new shades of cyan, magenta and yellow can be created.
Karina Smigla-Bobinski lives and works in Munich.
She is an intermediary artist and uses analogue and digital media in her work, moving between science, expression and cognition.
She produces and collaborates on projects ranging from kinetic sculptures, interactive installations and artistic interventions, often featuring mixed reality objects, multimedia performances of physical theatre and online projects.
