ANDRÉ’S OFFICE: a space for thinking, observing, imagining

From June 12 to 24, on the occasion of Milano Fashion Week Men’s '25
the black courtyard of Senato Hotel Milano welcomes ANDRÉ’S OFFICE,
an installation by Spazio RT, a Milan gallery that has been exploring design across past and present for over twenty years.

The space envisions the ideal office of a fashion editor, drawing inspiration from the charismatic and visionary figure of André Leon Talley, the legendary fashion director of Vogue US.
 
The exhibition unfolds around an architectural framework that is both intimate and permeable: wooden backdrops painted in a deep red create deconstructed walls that allow light and views to filter through. Multiple vantage points emerge, encouraging discovery of the world shaped by those who form our collective imagination. Each element, chosen with precision, translates the editor’s vision into form.

The “office” becomes a narrative device - a place of work, reflection, and inspiration, offering an experience of critical contemplation beyond a mere aesthetic glance. 

The installation combines historic pieces of Italian design with furnishings from the Spazio RT Contemporary collection, creating a refined tension between past and present—between the relevance of contemporary design and cultured references to history.
 
On one side, the console table designed by Spazio RT—with a Grand Noir Antique marble top and cast bronze legs—serves as the visual anchor of the space. Accompanying it is a sculptural Carrara marble stool by Sergio Calatroni, created for the Milanese gallery, evoking a seat of quiet strength.

Behind it stands the Pioli bookshelf (a Spazio RT design), rising like a monolith. Made from panels cut from a single slab of Arabescato Orobico marble, it features movable shelves held in place by polished brass pegs.
 
At the center, the room is lit by a slender composition of five Notti floor lamps, designed in the 1970s by Gigi and Pepe Tanzi for Dalca. Their chromed steel stems and cast iron bases give the space a sense of vertical rhythm and elegance.

Next to them, a triptych of Djuna side tables by Kazuhide Takahama—created for Gavina in the early 1980s—balances the weighty presence of the Grand Noir Antique with the lightness of their chromed steel bases.

The installation is completed by Jumbito, the latest creation from Spazio RT Contemporary: a low table crafted from slabs of Carrara and Verde Guatemala marble, carefully interlocked in a pattern that echoes the traditional carabottino design. Born from reclaimed marble offcuts, the piece transforms discarded material into a true design object.

Open to all ANDRÉ’S OFFICE offers a silent, suspended interlude: a place of calm and observation amid the frenetic pace of Milan Fashion Week.
