Floresta Futuristica by Matteo Cibic

During Milano Design Week, Senato Hotel Milano becomes the stage for Floresta Futuristica, an immersive installation by designer and artist Matteo Cibic. A surreal encounter between plants and water, paired with a refined teatime of architectonic pastries, an unmissable moment in the city’s design calendar.

Floresta Futuristica was conceived to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Italian company Bosa Ceramiche and the Brazilian maison St. James. It marks a new chapter in the collaboration between Matteo Cibic and two design companies that share values, vision, and history. For both, the designer has, over time, created long-lasting collections that are highly appreciated in Italy and Brazil.

The site-specific vegetal sculptures created for Senato Hotel Milano express Bosa’s unique ability to bring designers’ experimental visions to life, together with its expertise in producing ceramic works of significant scale and technical complexity.

Alongside these, a tableware service complements and interacts with the accessories and silver pieces by the Brazilian maison St. James.
  
The pastries featured in the installation are created by Chroma, while the interactive water system of the fountain is developed by Forme d’Acqua.

The installation celebrates the meeting of two manufacturing excellences: the ceramic experimentation of Bosa Ceramiche and the silversmithing tradition of St. James.
 
For the occasion, Matteo Cibic has designed a new collection of objects that reinterpret the ritual of the table through organic and narrative forms, creating a dialogue between material, function, and imagination. 

Floresta Futuristica transforms the spaces of Senato Hotel Milano into a dreamlike landscape: a forest of the future where botany, art, and design merge into a visionary language.

Large sculptural flowers and imaginary ceramic plants emerge as vibrant organisms, defined by intense colors and glazed surfaces.

Within the experience, an elegant tea room welcomes guests into an intimate and surreal setting. A selection of pastries and architectural nougats, crafted in polychrome marble aggregate by Chroma, transforms dessert into both an aesthetic and sensory experience.
